In these clubs, students have a chance to release academic stress, exchange academic information and bond. Additionally, department and student councils frequently hold study presentation, seminars and special lectures which provide students with the opportunity to discuss police work and create groups to study their particular interests. A special activity of the student council is running "Campus Police" of which members patrol on campus to maintain nightime safety. Participation in Campus Police provides vital career experience. Student councils also carry out various plans, such as exchange programs, including academic conferences and judo competitions, with other schools and field trips to criminal justice agencies (police, correction, district attorney's office and court). In addition, student council offers English and Chinese character tests twice a month and conducts various student activities, such as MT (Membership Training), athletics competition, departmental picnics etc. The department of police administration's alumni association, which was officially established in 2005 offers financial supports for poor students and advises on future directions for the department.
